PM.01APsa Cast Desk Lamp by Arthur van Poucke

PM.01APsa Cast by Arthur van Poucke is a contemporary light sculpture that sits between object and lamp. The base is built from interconnected arms joined by a cast aluminium connector, giving the piece a clear structural rhythm while remaining visually light. The upper section is formed from offcuts and small pieces of PMMA, each element carefully selected and polished on the inside to soften and diffuse the light.

Each lamp has a unique composition of colour. The “crown” is assembled individually, creating subtle variations in tone and atmosphere in every piece. The coloured surfaces blend into a soft glow that changes with the space and the time of day, giving the lamp a quiet presence rather than a fixed form.

Arthur van Poucke is a contemporary designer working with light, material reuse and experimental construction. His practice often moves between design and sculpture, focusing on how objects influence atmosphere rather than only function.

PM.01APsa Cast reflects this approach. It is made from reclaimed and offcut materials, shaped through a process that feels closer to composition than production. The result is a light object that almost disappears in form while remaining present through its colour and glow.
