Pastoe SB03 Dining Chairs by Cees Braakman (Sand)

Set of four Pastoe SB03 dining chairs designed by Cees Braakman in 1952. This is the version with the more squared seat and backrest. These four chairs are in great condition and are upholstered with this nice Sand coloured fabric. .

In the early 50s Cees Braakman went to the US to visit Charles and Ray Eames. He was very intrigued by the new use of materials. They were using steam machines to bent plywood and create new, cheap and strong furniture. Cees was inspired by the Eames couple and used these new use of material in his designs in the 50s, as can be seen in these SB03 chairs. These chairs were clearly inspired by the DCW and LCW chairs from Eames. Nevertheless, these chairs are amazing and very comfortable.
