Pastoe DB02 Sideboard by Cees Braakman

Pastoe DB02 sideboard designed by Cees Braakman and produced in 1950s. One of the larger versions from the Birch or Combex series by Braakman. This design is well known for it's loop or U-shaped legs that are made from bent plywood. The cabinet is made from Birch wood veneer. 

The DB02 has two harmonica doors. This means that the doors have an extra hinge so you can open just the middel or the complete cabinet. Behind the doors there are shelves and four drawers as can be seen in the pictures. The top drawer has an inlay with red velvet.

The cabinet is in completely original condition in the original finish. This edition was also made for Pastoe's international market and this cabinet was shipped to France in the 1950s. This can be seen on the back of the cabinet, it has a mark in French as well as a 'MADE IN HOLLAND' stamp. We haven't seen this before and this must have been a special order back in the 1950s for Pastoe. We have also imported the cabinet back to the Netherlands from France. It has signs of it over 70 years of use which are normal for a cabinet of this age. Please see all photos so you can see the condition it's in.
