Memphis Milano Super Lamp by Martine Bedin

Vintage Super Lamp designed in 1981 by Martine Bedin for Memphis Milano. One of the most recognisable pieces from the early Memphis collection, the Super lamp combines a playful concept with strong post-modern form.

The lamp features a semi-circular body in lacquered structural polyurethane and metal on a set of four small rubber wheels. Six coloured metal cylinders rising from the curved form house E14 sockets. The light bulbs are part of the object’s expressive aesthetic.

The Super Lamp works as either a table or floor lamp and carries the spirited character of the Memphis group: sculptural, unexpected and bold. Originally created as part of Memphis’s 1981 debut, this piece remains an emblematic example of post-modern design. 

This piece is in great condition and the bulbs have been replaced for LED bulbs by the previous owner, who spend a lot of time to find the perfect replacement for the original bulbs that came with the lamp originally.
