Max Sauze Studio Uranus Desk Lamp by Max Sauze

A beautiful Uranus table lamp designed by Max Sauze for the Max Sauze Studio in France in the late 1970s. The lamp features a nickeled metal wire frame with many aluminum bent sheets which results in an amazing light effect.

Max Sauze was experimenting with the creation of aluminium sheet lighting since the early 1960s. He exploited the many possibilities of braiding this material to create indirect lighting. This turned out to be quite similar to the designs of Poul Henningson, who is known for his lamp designs that only show diffuse light.

The lamp fits an E27 bulb and is in great condition as can be seen in the pictures.
